“Raising Athletes for Life”  presented by New Canaan CARES and the New Canaan Athletic Foundation

 

 

Please join us in supporting the New Canaan CARES and New Canaan Athletic Foundation sponsored program “Raising Athletes for Life” on Thursday, March 23rd at 7pm in the Bartlett Auditorium at the New Canaan Library.  Garland Allen, co-founder of inCourage, will moderate a panel of distinguished local athletes to discuss how athletes, parents, coaches and educators define success and what that means for us, as a community, as we work to create a healthy sports culture. The panel includes:

  • Dave Inman – Grew up a multi-sport athlete; played on the U.S. National Hockey Team; played Division 1 hockey for Notre Dame; drafted by the NY Rangers and played professional hockey post college before starting a career in finance; father of two sons in New Canaan
  • Heather Knight Pech – Currently ranked as #1 marathoner in the USA, and #2 in the World in her division; coaches over 90 athletes, including elite youth
  • Kendall Patten – Senior Varsity Soccer Player at Cornell University; originally from New Canaan
  • Andy Towers – Current coach of Premier Lacrosse League Chaos Lacrosse Club; originally from New Canaan and founder of Lacrosse Draws, an organization committed to helping young players succeed in their mission to become the best players and people that they can be 

These accomplished athletes and coaches will share their varied views on what is important as a youth athlete to be successful on and off the field.
