The NCAF is an independent community based fundraising organization that works in partnership with the town of New Canaan. We believe athletics is a window to the community. We endeavor to support the community’s athletic facilities, broadly defined, in order to enhance the development and enrichment of athletic programs. Maintaining New Canaan’s long history of successful youth and high school sports benefits the community at large, bringing joy to parents and their children and distinction to the Town.
The NCAF identifies current and future needs across athletic facilities as agreed upon with the Town. We welcome input from the community, youth and high school coaches on additional field space and facility enhancements needed.
Turf replacement and field improvements are financially covered by the NCAF and The Town of New Canaan. Allocated annual contributions live within the Parks and Recreation Departments’ individual budgets and cover smaller facility projects and lighting costs on the NCHS turf fields and Waveny Park softball fields. Additionally, the NCAF contributes to an endowment fund by collecting a $25 per player/per season field usage fees. 50% of these funds will go toward replacing turf fields at the end of their useful life.
Additionally, the NCAF works with the Town of New Canaan to plan, develop and construct enhancements to facilities. The NCAF contributes the other 50% of collected per player annual field usage fees for non-turf related enhancements on fields. Learn More.
